Rise and Shine

Hello!

Today, I have a card to share created by my friend Susan.  A few of us got together a few weeks ago and started coloring these roosters for Susan's quilt/card ministry.

Susan and an group of ladies make quilts for Veterans and Isreal.  Amazing quilts...beautiful and all supplies are donated.  These quilts have a pocket on the back which is filled with cards and other goodies.  It is an amazing ministry, that I have had the pleasure of making cards for and donate supplies to.

Susan and Linda finished these cards last weekend and at church today Susan included one of the cards along with the stamps she borrowed and other leftovers.  I just had to share this great card!

This card was was partially inspired by a card Christine made for her January workshops - check her card out.  We loved the cardboard and twine - great masculine card - great anyone card.

The coloring of the rooster was straight from Mischelle's Caboodle Coloring Class 2.  Mischelle made a similar card also - although I do not know if it has been published anywhere.  We saw it in class - jaw dropping beautiful that is really all I remember. Wow!

Rise and Shine is one of my husband's favorite sets.  Believe it or not, Mark looks through our catalogs and picks out sets he likes....or would like to see me make a card with.  This set moved up on my wish list because Mark picked it.  I think I will keep him....he has great taste.

Hope you enjoyed Susan's card.

TAC Digi Design House

Hello All,

The Angel Company recently opened an online digi site called Digi Design House or DDH for short.  I am new to digi's maybe you are too.  I had someone at my Copic Class ask...what is a digi?  It is a digital image - you buy the file rather than the stamp.  This gives you the ability to print multiples and scale the image.  Plus, they are delivered to your inbox almost instantly, buy and create the same day!

So, I decided to buy a few and try my hand at creating this new way.  The images on TAC's new site are retired sets - they picked some wonderful images.  Ones I remember fondly and others that must have been before my time.  They are offered in a sets like the original stamp set and each image is sent as separate file. I also got a custom watermark which I love!

Here are some of my creations using Budding Iris and Water LillyThis iris is colored like the ones that grow in my backyard.  I am SO ready for Spring.

Copics: YG93, YG95, YG97; B91; BV02, BV04; YR21, YR23, YR24
Bazzill papers: Lizard, Grape and Emma Cardstock
Other Stamps: TAC All Things of Nature (rubber not digi)

Next, water lilly...

Copics: YG93, 95, 97; B91; BV02, 04; YR21, 23, 24; E000
Bazzill: Raven, Amber

Is it Spring yet??

Hope you have a wonderful week.
Blessings,
Deb

Sunshine

Hello!

Today's featured stamp set is "Sunshine" love this set.  The guest designer on TAC Savvy Projects blog is Barb Foster.  Amazing!

I pulled out the craft sewing machine Saturday for this one. I love stitch detail on cards. I remember my little machine being difficult to thread and use but this time it went pretty well.  I'm happy about that!

I created a patchwork using Emma cardstock and stitched around the perimeter. I wish I could have added stitching to separate all the panels but my little machine couldn't handle the size of the card. {heavy sigh} Added Emma ribbon and trim.

Copics: YG93, YG95, YG97, YR21, YR23, YR24, E55, E57, E59

It doesn't show very well but the background around the sunflower is pink chalk to tie in with the pinks in the paper.

Supplies: Emma SWIC and Ribbon, Palo Verde cardstock, Pastel Chalk, Copics.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop!
Blessings,
Deb

Be Lifted

Happy Tuesday!

Today's featured stamp set is "Be Lifted", the guest designer on TAC Savvy Projects blog is Rita Kegg

I've been thinking about this card for awhile - since I got this stamp set!  I thought a step card would be perfect.

This is a 4" x 8" card.  The base card uses a full piece on 12" x 12" cardstock, cut into (3) 4" x 12" strips.  The steps are at 0.75", 3", 5", 6".

This is really a crazy thick card - probably could eliminate the last step - originally I was going to attach the "Hope" verse on the last step but it was too wide.  Not very practical to mail, but I like the depth and shadows all the steps create.

Hope you enjoy the rest to the blog hop!
Blessings,
Deb

Simply Sweet

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today is my day as guest designer on TAC Savvy Projects Blog and the set I chose was "Simply Sweet". Love this set - so versatile.

Here are the cards I created...

Cardstocks used today: Bazzill Berrylicious, Dark Sky, Bumblebee, DCWV Green Apple and White Caboodle cardstock.

The Tree

For this first card, I popped the 2 center portions of the tree, to make the canopy look full and 3-D. I took the liberty to add some extra detail with a Copic multiliner pen. The image was colored with Copic markers - YG11, YG13, YG17; R29; E55, E57, E59; Y38. The background is blue Pastel Chalk. Love using chalks as a sky background, so soft and airy. The Nestabilities dies used are Standard Circles Large & Labels 3.

The red flowers were the feature I repeated by stamping the red frame with similar flowers from "Simple Starters" (base catalogue). Lastly, I added a button and red scrappers floss detail and stamped the sentiment - which could be anything...thank you, happy birthday, thinking of you...

Feel Better Bear

I used a 1.5" diameter punch to create the circles, to nest them I used the 1.5" punch again. For the notches I used a 1/2" diameter punch, then added a white brad in the center.

The image was colored with Copic markers - R24, R29, R59; YG11, YG13, YG17; B41, B45, B37; E55, E57, E59; Y32, Y35, Y38; W-1. The balloons were layered and the black string feature was repeated with the added black scrappers floss.

I'm Sorry Puppy

Card 3 - This was actually the first card I created and started the design theme of pulling out features of the stamped image and repeating them. I created the slats of the dog house with 1/2" strips of cardstock. I inked the edges of the slats with Noir Palette ink and added screw brads to mimic the image.

The bowl and dog were popped to add dimension. What a face! Copic markers were used to color the image and blue pastel chalk added for the background. The bowl was colored with silver colored pencil and bone with Copic W-1.

The Dress

For the background, I was looking for swirls like the hanger and found "Wonderful News" in the Fall Supplement. I used Brilliance Platinum Planet ink. The red bow feature was also repeated.

I stamped the image twice - once as the base image then again to create the layered dress. The bow and straps were colored with R29 & R59 Copic markers. I used a glue marker and Prisma Glitter to create the sparkly dress. I cut out the dress and layered it on a base image like the dress is hanging on the hanger. The dot background is W-1 Copic marker. The hanger was colored with a silver colored pencil and red accents are Copic marker.

One Layer Wonder

Copics: BG01, BG05, BG09, W-1, W-3, W-5, YR61, YR65, YR68

Hope you enjoy the rest of the blog hop!

Hope you have a Fabulous Day!
Deb

Project - Hanging Calendar

This is an easy project for a FUNshop, open house or if you are making items to sell at a craft fair. I created this hanging calendar for a craft fair...only had this one left.  It is sure to brighten up an office.

The DCWV Brights Chipboard Stack is already covered with textured cardstock - doesn't get much easier than that!  You can distress it - I did not on this one.  I used a large glue dot to secure the back of the clip, so it doubles as a mini clipboard for notes and dates to remember during the month.

I used a Crop-a-dile to punch the holes and crimp the eyelets in the corners of the chipboard. The white wire is craft wire which you can find in the floral department of your local craft store. I twisted it around a pencil to make the loops. I made some with beads on the wire between the loops [note to self those were the first to sell at the craft fair].

At each end, I twisted the wire around the shaft of a very small phillips screw driver. Don't forget to turn in the sharp end in or bend it over on itself.

Thanks for stopping by...

Abundant Blessings

Retiform Blog Hop

Today is the Retiform Blog Hop!  I have never done this technique, so after searching online and watching a few youtube videos I gave it a try.

I started by thinking about colors and selecting stamps.  I decided to go vintage - can you believe it?!?  I love vintage sets but quite honestly I don't use them very often...although today they came out.

I chose 2 sets "Vintage Backgrounds" and "Fly Fairy" and thought I would try to create a masculine card.

I started with 2 pieces of white cardstock (1.5" x 3.5" & 3.5" x 5.5"), a black pen and some sticky notes.  I placed the 1.5" x 3.5" piece of cardstock in the center of the 3.5" x 5.5" cardstock, then traced around the rectangle with the black pen.  I sectioned the outer frame.

The outer frame was masked and the bicycle was stamped in the 1.5" x 3.5" rectrangle.  I used Cognac Palette ink and a sponge to ink the edges.  On the opposite side of the line I sponged Burnt Umber Palette. I repeated that pattern.

The finished image was matted on Bazzill Raven and the base card is Bazzill Pinecone.  I added a piece of brown twill ribbon to finish it off.

This is a great technique!

Hope you enjoy the rest of the retiform blog hop.

Hope your day is blessed!
Deb
