June/July Promotional Set

Happy Day!
We have a new promotional set "You make my Heart Sing" for June and July.

This is a simple and cute birthday card for my niece.  I used the sketch from week 3.

When I looked at this stamped image - I thought pink dress, green wings, blue hair (I could not resist) - Lilly Anna.  I paper pieced the wings and the dress and colored the hair, skin and shoes with Copics.  I kept it simple, no shading today.

Supplies -- Stamps: Promo set, Love You (Level B Hostess), Papers: Lilly Anna SWIC, Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copics (E01, R01, R81, B41), 2.5" Scallop punch, 2"circle punch.

June is Sneak Peek Month - check out Savvy on Tuesdays and Friday to see some great new images which will debut in the new catalogue!

It was announced that the 2011-12 Inspiration Catalogue with go live June 27th!

There are only a few more days left in May.

DDH6 Challenge: Anything BUT a Card ~ Week 2

Happy Monday,

More "Anything But a Card" ideas this week.  Our hostess on the DDH blog is Stephanie.

This week, I made a note pad.  The covers are actually cereal boxes that I cut to size and covered with TAC More Mimi cardstock.

The inside pages are a 3x5" white paper pad I found at OfficeMax in a multi-pack.  The whole thing was punched and bound using the Bind-It-All binding system.  I added a flower to the front from the DDH set Spring Sprigs and Mimi coordinating ribbon to the wire.

Supplies -- DDH Spring Sprigs,  TAC More Mimi SWIC, Copics (RV10, RV14, RV19, YG03, YG63, E35), 2.5" scallop oval punch, 2"oval punch.

We would love it if you played along! This challenge is open until 6pm (CST) on Sunday, May 29th. Visit DDH and add a link to your creation to our card gallery and you will have a chance to win a FREE DDH Digi!

We would love to see your "Anything BUT a Card" using a DDH Digi. If you do use a DDH Digi you will be entered in a second drawing! Won't you join us?!?

Card a day in May ~ Week 4

Happy Sunday!

It is week 4 already and here is our 4th Sketch...

This is a great sketch!  Love how the scallop is labeled 3/4" - so I used a punch and pieced each circle to make the scallop edge.  I used Sew Thankful this week and also a FREE black and white download paper from DDH.

The image is stamped on a circle cut and embossed with a Nestabilities Circle die.  My husband got me a Grand Calibur for my birthday (he is also letting me use it before my birthday - what a sweetie).  He wanted me to try it - Really he did.  I LOVE it!  This new design is SO much easier to use (no muscles required to get the sandwich started with this design - no shooting out at the other end) and the cutting and embossing is so much better.  The pressure applied is more evenly distributed, plus supported underneath, giving a better cut and it doesn't distort the Impressibilities either!  Huge HUGE design improvements.

Lastly, finished it off with a white ribbon and bow (a deviation from the sketch).

Supplies -- Stamps: Sew Thankful, Papers: Raven, Black and White II, Inks: Noir Black Palette ink, 3/4" punch, Nestabilities Circles, White ribbon

Hope you enjoy all the cards this week.  Won't you join us?

Deb

DDH6 Challenge: Anything BUT a Card ~ Week 1

Happy Monday!

Ready for a new DDH Challenge?  Our hostess for the next 2 weeks is Stephanie and our challenge is "Anything BUT a Card".  I covered a chipboard clipboard with TAC papers and then added some embellishments.
Supplies -- DDH Beautiful Butterflies, TAC Juliette SWIC, Copics, Chipboard clipboard, Sanding block.

I used Beautiful Butterflies today.  The body of the butterfly is colored with Copics and the wings are paper pieced.  There is a beautiful paper in the Juliette Collection with just a few flowers and the wings are part of one of the flowers.  I sanded around the edges of the clipboard to give a distressed look.

There will be a second post next Monday, May 23rd, on the DDH blog with more Anything BUT a Card ideas.  I will be posting another card idea next Monday.

We would love it if you played along! This challenge is open until 6pm (CST) on Sunday, May 29th. Visit DDH and add a link to your creation to our card gallery and you will have a chance to win a FREE DDH Digi!

Card a Day in May ~ Week 3

Happy Sunday!

It is week 3 of A Card a Day in May and we have a new sketch.   I used the Spring Fling set "Gift of Friendship" for my card this week.  If you did not get this great set during Spring Fling - not to worry it will be back.

Here is the week 3 sketch:
My interpretation of the sketch is quite literal - big surprise.  I placed my image -where the rectangle is in the sketch.  I kept it simple today, just stamping.

Supplies -- Stamps: Gift of Friendship, Papers: Mia's Cottage SWIC, Inks: Claret and Landscape Palette ink, Versamark ink, 2"circle punch, 5/8" circle punch, Gems, In Bloom embellishments.

Hope you enjoy the cards this week!

May Blog Hop - Chalks

Yay Blogger is back -- Ready for a Hop??

Today, our hop showcases chalk techniques on the TAC Savvy Projects Blog  I used Blossoms and Blessings.

My technique is painting with chalks using an Aqua Flow brush.  I used watercolor paper so that I could really move the color and would not have to worry about oversaturating the paper.  First, I stamped on the smoother side {or technically back} with VersaMark ink the flowers and leaves.  Then, embossed with white embossing powder

I used Basic Bright Chalks to paint in the flowers and leaves.  The verse is stamped with Jardin Moss Palette ink.  The card is finished off with a sheer white ribbon and a pearl.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop.
Abundant Blessings,
Deb

Card A Day - Week 2

Hello,

It is week two of the Card A Day in May extravaganza!  Here the sketch of this week...
This card was actually my husband's Valentine's Day Card.  He really liked it, so much so he took it to work and has it on his desk.  Glad I took pictures before I gave it to him.

Really a great sketch layout - clean and simple. The lighter blue cardstock, dark sky, was crimped to give some texture. I added some extra matting and a eyelet.  The color palette is Caboodle Set C - love those coordinating Copic markers and cardstock - makes it SO easy!
Supplies -- Stamps: For My Tweetie, Papers: Caboodle Cardstock Set C; Hardware: Cha Cha; Copics: Caboodles Set C; Tools: Crimper.

Hope you enjoy all the cards today.  Remember there will be a new card idea everyday this month on the TAC Savvy Projects Blog.

Abundant Blessings!

A Card A Day in May - Week 1

It’s Sunday, May 1st and “A Card A Day in the Month of May” is now underway! A whole month of new ideas using sketches, plus every day is a blog hop. So we hope you will pull out your favorite TAC stamp sets and play along during May.

Sketch 1 is the featured sketch this week (May 1 – 7). I love sketches – it is really quite amazing to see how each designer “interprets” the basic elements drawn. Feel free to rotate the sketch, the dimensions are a suggestion, layer if you like and squares can be rectangles, circles, oval etc…

My card today follows the sketch quite literally. I used "Hope Perches" a Level B hostess set, papers are Winchester SWIC and cardstock. The image is colored with Copic Markers. I sponged the edges with Cognac and Burnt Umber Palette ink. The center background is pastel blue chalk.

This second card is still quite literal, however I rounded some corners and added a few brads and floss. And of course, the color palette is completely different.

Supplies: Stamp set "Good Things"; Papers Cha Cha SWIC, Bazzill Dark Sky, Beeswax, Berrylicious; Black Scrappers Floss, Silver Brads, Copic Markers.

Hope you enjoy Day 1 of "A Card a Day in the Month of May".  This sketch runs thru this week, next week there will be a new sketch.  Check back at TAC Savvy Projects Blog for lots of cards ideas...a new one EVERY day this month!

Blessings,
Deb
